Cherry Hill 9/11 Remembrance & Patriotic Gratitude Week is
April 20 - May 2nd
To the New Media & Townspeople of Cherry Hill
POST OFFICERS (that aren't in college this weekend - If you can make it, wear your uniform cap.)

On April 20th, 2008 at 2:00 PM --- a moment of prayer for 9-11 victims will take place in front of Joyce Kilmer School at 2:00 PM. All are invited to attend this solemn remembrance of the tragedy that occurred on September 11, 2001.

We, as a proud community, should never forget the horrendous attack on America that resulted in the deaths of 2996 innocent live who were from all walks of life, races, nationalities and religious faiths.

To mark this solemn event -- a "Memorial 9-11 Wreath"  and a "Flag of Honor" will be placed at Joyce Kilmer's School grounds on Chapel Avenue to kick-off the first day of Cherry Hill's -  7th Annual - "9-11 Remembrance & Patriotic Gratitude".

Cherry Hill's Fire Departments will be participating by driving their fire trucks through the full two-mile avenue of cherry trees and American flags and stopping at Joyce Kilmer's 9-11 Memorial site for a brief silent prayer. We have extended the same invitation to Cherry Hill's Police department as well.

Families are encouraged to visit this patriotic site nestled between the hundreds of blossoming cherry trees adorned with American flags and yellow bows. It will be good for the children to know what occurred on September 11th, 2001. It will be a lesson of compassion and patriotic pride for them. We want them to participate in this solemn remembrance. We left hundreds of cherry trees without yellow bows and hopefully the families and children of Cherry will finish the job for us. So we are encouraging them to  find a cherry tree without a yellow bow for them to place a yellow bow on it..

The Joyce Kilmer 9-11 Memorial site will be available for viewing until the cherry blossoms leave the cherry trees which should be occurring around May 1st.

Note: The American "Flag of Honor" contains the names of the 2996  innocent victims killed on that fateful day. This flag is emotionally moving when you witness all of names of innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001. It puts one in perspective of what America stands for and we should always remember these victims of 9-11.

Chapel Avenue's beautiful cherry blossoms, American flags and yellow ribbons and the addition of this 911 Memorial site will attest to Cherry Hill's remembrance of this tragic event. We as a proud community will never forget September 11th, 2001.
