VETERANS HISTORY PROJECT leads to
Honorary Membership of 4/503d Battalion
As you may know, our Ladies Auxiliary
Vice President Sue Quinn-Morris, partnered with the Veterans
History Project and has been conducting veteran interviews. One
of the veteran interviews she conducted was with Bernie
Henderson (Merchantville Post Commander). Bernie recalled his
Vietnam experiences, including details of his horrific injury
that awarded him the Purple Heart, in the 45 minute long video
interview. Sue was profoundly touched by the interview—so much
so that she set out to help Bernie fulfill the emotional wish
that Bernie expressed in his interview. His wish was to find his
old comrades and the Medic who saved his life 42 years ago.

STOP BY THE
MEMORIAL in front of JFK Hospital on
Chapel Ave. between Sept 11th and Sept
19th to honor the 9/11 victims and our
POW/MIA's....
Volunteers from the
Post and Cherry Hill Resident Joe
Zanghi erected the Flag of Honor in
front of JFK Hospital on Sunday, Sept
7th. The Flag of Honor is in honor of
all the 9/11 victims and displays all
of their names on it. The Flag of
Honor is surrounded by dozens of other
flags and yellow ribbons. Next week we
will place POW/MIA Flags around the
flags. We encourage residents to stop
by the Memorial Site, say a prayer and
leave a yellow ribbon between
September 11th and September 19th
(POW/MIA Recognition Day) 2008.
THANK YOU FROM KIM BIERBACH
Dear
Friends at the American Legion:
My name is Kim Bierbach and I am a bar tender at Cherry Hill Post
372. I recently lost my brother Len Lannon, who was 50 years old,
from complications after a surgery.
The reason I am writing this is to thank the American Legion Post
372, general members, Ladies Auxiliary, and the Post 84 Legion
Riders for their kindness in my family’s time of grief.
I would also like to thank many of our patrons and dear friends
for the outpouring of love and support they have given.
The benefit we had at Taylors was a great success thanks to many
of my friends at our Post as well as other posts. I would like to
give special thanks to Sabrina Gottron, owner of the Barking Lot
and Cats Meow, Lisa Hixon and Kate Bush, owners of Johnny’s Pizza,
and Sue Quinn.
So, once again, I want to thank everyone on behalf of my family
and myself for all of the love and support given to us during this
hard time. It is much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Kim Bierbach
