Sampson AFB Fellowship Reunion

Our 16th reunion was held at Lake Barkley State Resort Park, Cadis, Kentucky, October 10th to 15th, 2005. In the historical City of Paducah, we viewed a film about the “Great Flood” of 1937 in which floodwaters of the Ohio River submerged the entire town. We went to an Elk and Bison Preserve, similar to Great Adventure. Instead of various animals there were herds of Elk and Bison buffalo. We also toured a town where the citizens dress, work and live in log cabins as they did over 150 years ago.

We have five members that took Basic Training at Sampson AFB, Geneva, New York  1950 through 1956. They are Commander Tom Goldy, Sr.Vice Commander Charles Macukewiez, Vice Commander Ernest Brosh, Chaplain Chester Malik and Executive Officer Charles Alberti. If you attended Sampson AFB, let me know and I will place your name on the Fellowship Roll.

The 17th annual reunion of Sampson AFB Vets will be held in Dover, Delaware September 25-29, 2006. NASCAR fans will note that the reunion follows the big race at Dover Downs and you may want to make this a double-header trip. We are looking forward to a great turnout for this reunion so the sooner I hear from you, the better.
