As we come
together again in a new year, ask yourself who we are. A Legion with
values; integrity, patriotism, service in our local communities. These
values represent us in all things we do every day at every American Legion
Post. Sometimes we feel that no one is noticing, but they are! If we are
to continue our success into the new year we must stay true to our values.
As American Legion
members we must remind ourselves that those around us are very aware of
who we are and they know that we do the right things and we do them the
right way! We must not forget those who have served or are serving in
military uniform. They’re all doing their duty, leaving their homes,
leaving their families to fight an enemy who wears no uniform, swears
allegiance to no country and recognizes no rules of war. Every soldier,
Sailor, Marine, Airman and Coast Guardsman is a part of our family. Every
Legionnaire who wears our uniform might not wear the same
service cap, but the cap represents the same values, integrity, allegiance
to our country and to the men and women in military uniform. Our Sons’ and
Ladies’ Auxiliary hold the same values as the General Membership. They are
Post 372 and wear their uniform and cap with the same American Pride. I
want to thank everyone who plays the Pull Tab Machine, win or lose, your
Post sent that money to help a lot of people. I ask that you continue your
recruiting efforts in 2006, in order that our American Legion will grow
even stronger and have a louder voice on Capital Hill. American Legion
Post 372 gives our love and support to the troops.
For God and Country,
Respectfully,
Tom Goldy Sr.
Commander
