WELCOME HOME SOLDIERS

American Legion Post 372, along with many other local Volunteer organizations, MC's and rider groups participate in Welcome Homes for soldiers/troops. (Warriors Watch, Yellow Ribbon Club, A Heros Welcome, along with member of other groups - Legion Riders, Nam Knights, Defenders, POW/MIA Riders, Leathernecks, AMVEt Riders, and many more).

Major Steve Reinis and his wife Darlene approached us about having a rock star Welcome Home for their friends of the 716th Quarter Master Co.~ of course it was our pleasure to step up and honor these young soldiers for defending our freedoms!

WELCOME HOME & ESCORT of SOLDIERS FROM IRAQ

WHERE: American Legion Post 372, 1532 Martin Ave., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002
TIME: 11:30am

BBQ Food, Water, Soda and DJ Music

There were 35 soldiers that came home from Iraq - their bus was escorted in, along with 2 military vehicles, police and motorcycles from McGuire to the Legion. In addition to welcome home supporters (Col Bancroft, Cong. Adler, Mayor Platt, etc) waiting at the Legion, there was approx 120 family members of the Soldiers there - they came from different parts of the country - and an additional 50 soldiers were waiting for their arrival at the Legion too. A great time was had by all - BBQ - Food, water, soda and Music ....Awards Presentation.

 

   
National Armory Guard Picnic Photos April 2008
Representatives from the American Legion had the privilege of attending the National Guard Armory Picnic in Cherry Hill on April 5th where troops and their families met for a picnic in their honor before deployment in June 2008. A $200 donation was made from the Legion.
