Lawrence J. Virgilio was born on April 16, 1942, to Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Virgilio Sr. His home of record is Camden, NJ. He had two brothers, Anthony Jr. and Nicholas. Lawrence graduated from Camden High School and Lincoln Preparatory School on Philadelphia, PA.

He enlisted in the US Marine Corps on February 11, 1966, and he attained the rank of Corporal (CPL).

Virgilio was killed in action on July 24, 1967, from head wounds received in a battle.
