Traveling FALLEN TRIBUTE TOWERS - Remembering Our Fallen

Traveling War Memorial that honors our post 9/11 military Fallen.

The American Legion Post 372 of Cherry Hill will be hosting the traveling Fallen Tribute Towers  November 4th – 8th, 2020. The Memorial will be located at 1532 Martin Ave., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.

The Fallen Tribute Towers is a traveling war memorial that honors our post 9/11 military Fallen. Consisting of 32 towers, it includes photos of the military men and women killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan, those that were killed in training accidents and attacks stateside and on overseas bases, as well as those who took their own lives once returning from war due to post-traumatic stress.

This moving exhibit will be on display outside from Wednesday, November 4th (2pm) until Sunday, November 8th (12pm) and is open for public viewing 24/7.

There will be a Wreath Laying & Candlelight Service on Friday, November 6th at 6:30pm to honor and remember all our men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice during the Global War on Terrorism. Candles will be provided - Wreaths are not, you need to bring your own, with stand. Guest speakers to date include ret Brig General John DiNapoli, Gold Star Mother and Camden County Freeholder Melinda Hopkins Kane, Cherry Hill Town Council President Dave Fleisher and Mike Simpson of NJ Run for the Fallen. Reading of the Camden County names by Col (ret) and Camden County Veterans Affairs Director Ted Gallagher and Ringing of the Bell by American Legion Post 68 Bernie Kofoet.If you/your organizations would like to lay a wreath at the service, please click here to sign up.  We will also be having a Essay Contest for all children grades 5-8 and 9-12. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes in each age category. 1st prize $150, 2nd prize $75, 3rd prize $50. To enter, you must visit the Fallen Tribute Towers exhibit sometime between Nov 4th - Nov 8th.  Submissions will be due by Wednesday, November 11th and winners will be chosen on Saturday, November 14th. 

There will be a Veterans Day Service on Saturday, November 7th at 11am to honor all our living veterans and active military. (Rain or Shine). To date - Master of Ceremonies, American Legion Post 372 Commander Joe Merimonde, Opening Remarks American Legion Camden County Commander Truitt Andress, Veterans Day presentation, American Legion Post 372 Past Commander Tim Kraft. Invocation/Benediction, American Legion Post 68 Chaplain Bernie Henderson. 

Visitors should follow social distancing rules and regulations that are in place at the time of their visit. Fallen Tribute Towers Exhibit and Ceremonies will be outdoors. Again please follow social distancing. Tent in case of inclement weather, but bring umbrella/poncho in case no social distanced seats available.
