Veterans Day Service, Dinner and Commander Appreciation
We held our annual Veterans Day Service at 11am on November 11th outside by the flagpole. Commander Merimonde and Jr Vice Commander Jack Walsh led the service to thank all our living and deceased veterans for their service to our great nation.
Later in the day, the Auxiliary prepared a feast for all to enjoy in the Hall - a Spaghetti Dinner with all the fixings! Great job Ladies!
Commander Merimonde welcomed everyone, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer by Chaplain Sue Shepperd and a special presentation (plaque) honoring Commander by Jr Vice Commander Jack Walsh. The Auxiliary and SALs also presented a certificate of appreciation and a $500 donation to go towards a Scholarship that Commander Merimonde is establishing in honor of his fathers service.
A touching addition to the evening was the thank you cards from local school children (Burlington Twp High School - FCCLA and FEA) that adorned the tables and the custom mugs and pretzels that were donated by St Marys and Bayada for our veterans.
