Chattanooga Times, January 23, 1967. Funeral Monday for L. A. Floyd - Football Player was killed Jan. 14 in Vietnam. Funeral services for Spec. 4 Lonnie A. Floyd, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Landon Floyd of 520 Oliver St., who was killed in Vietnam Saturday, Jan. 14, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at White Oak Baptist Church. The Rev. J. A. Campbell and the Rev. Almon Hawkins will officiate.Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park with full military honors. Floyd, an outstanding football player at Chattanooga High School, was a member of C Company, 4th Battalion, 503rd Infantry.
His survivors include his parents; two sisters, Miss Brenda Floyd of Chattanooga and Mrs. Joan Posey of Soddy; two brothers, Richard Floyd and Thomas Floyd, both of Chattanooga.
